Bad guys always get the, uh, media attention
So, who do you think was splashed all over the Indian newspapers the day after the Pakistan team landed on Indian soil? Yeah right. Shoaib Akhtar.
I would have preferred Umar Gil, the T20 wonder guy, or even Rao Iftikar, who showed a lot of promise against South Africa. But who wants to cash in on the good guys?
Moving on, Pakistan have arrived with four fast bowlers, right? Apart from these three, there’s a Sohail Tanveer, I hear. With Shoaib on their side, it’s going to be interesting to watch how, or if at all, the team functions. We all know about the Akhtar-Asif-Afridi saga. They are a tough side to beat, but also to handle. Good luck, Geoff Lawson.
I am going to miss Mohammed Asif. Hope he’s okay and has gotten over the wounds. Akhtar’s thrashing must have hurt. Ouch.
The Pakistanis are looking vindictive and ready to settle scores with their arch rivals. Should be, and I am sure it will be, a cut-throat contest.
My predictions:
ODI: Pakistan win 3-2
Tests: India win 1-0
