I did expect India to win 1 of the 4 games but just didn’t expect them to win at Perth. I thought Australia wouldn’t lose at MCG or at the WACA so it has been a surprise to me as I am sure it has been to many others.

Anyway congrats to the Indian lads. I know its just 1 test win but considering it is just the 3rd Test that Australia have lost in the 49 tests they have played at home since 2000, I think its something to savour for them.

Bas, the link to your blog is not working.

If they’ve got to prove they’re at par with Oz, they’ve got to win at Adelaide.

Even England have managed to win at least one Test most of the times. No big deal.

(Yep. I’ve gotten over the celebrations. Back to my skeptical self.)

    ‘Morning Dinnie,

Congratulations! I’m happy too for I felt India could have actually won this series in the pre-series assessment at various blogs and forums. In that regard, I’ll perhaps be a little disappointed that it cannot be…but good to see once again an affirmation of what young India is all about…not the generation next, not the generation Y…Ishant, Pathan,RP…these guys are beyond that….India is in much better hands now.

Reminds me of the ‘71 era when a generation of cricketers achieved a few firsts. The wheel is turning and this bunch of youth is picking up wins, showing character, and appear to like putting in the effort to maintain winning as their habit.

Dinnie, the link to my blog isn’t working because being the genius that I am, I put the wrong address in my first post.

I have to admit I owe the idea of the blog to you - you were quite an inspiration otherwise I am just a slacker. At least now I can occasionally put my thoughts down in black and white somewhere.

I am not sure what are trying to imply by “even England win the odd test against Australia so its no big deal”. Are you trying to suggest that we are some rubbish team and if we can win the odd test or two, than India should do much better? If so, then I hope you enjoy when the England lads hand out a thrashing to the India boys in India over the winter this year. LOL :P

Sorry, Bas. You caught me off guard. :)

I’ll hop over to look into your blog now.

    Soul,

Agree on the ‘71 thing, Soul.

However, this win has become just so special because of the scandals preceding it.
