Cricket Trivia: Who Am I?
eat Cricket, drink Cricket, sleep Cricket
I might not have been a real great in that sense,
But I did help my country get into a World Cup Super Six,
And surprise the biggies
What’s more, I bagged three Man-of-the-Match awards at the same World Cup,
I knew I could do more,
The gifted all-rounder I was,
But I wasn’t being paid much,
So I just called it quits…
Now if you recognized me,
That should make me content for life,
So..who am I?

Thank you for the interesting article. Putting a question for the viewers in such a way is a good idea.
The answer of the question is Neil Johnson, an excellent all rounder of Zimbabwe. He won three man of the tournament awards in 1999 World cup, leading his team to get into the super six of that tournament. Another interesting thing is that he was a right arm first medium bowler and a left hand batsman.

I’m sure commentators aren’t paid enough. It’s Richie Benaud.

BKD,
Didn’t Johnson make that cracker 100 in the WC with breathtaking straight drives; was that vs SAF? He was some player alright. Aussie almost.

Neil Johnson played that excellent 132-run innings against Australia in the super six round of 1999 ICC World Cup Cricket. He was not out at 132, but Zimbabwe lost the match by 44 runs. Actually, he was an excellent all rounder.
Hello Dinnie, I am looking forward to getting your next article on Cricket Trivia. I liked it so much and hope to see another one very soon.
