Hampshire gain promotion in Pro-40
Hampshire stuffed Glamorgan in the Pro-40 playoff. Hampshire Hawks, who finished third in Division 2 were up against Glamorgan Dragns, who finished third from bottom in Division 1. That means Hampshire will be promoted to Division 1 for next season and Glamorgan will be in Division 2 next season. The match was won by a century from Hampshire’s Chris Benham. His 158 sealed a competitive total of 265 off their 40, which Glamorgan never looked like scoring. They were finally dismissed for a dismal 120 odd.
The game marks the official end of the English cricket season. Thoughts will now shift towards the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy in India, kicking off next month.

What a great season, talk about highs and lows. Although I must admit my attention is far more on the Ashes than the two-bob cup.
