IPL Buzz : Some things I noticed
This is Important. The following are the developments which have taken place in the Indian Premier League from 24th April to 2nd May, 2008:
- Sachin Tendulkar is still not playing
- Shaun Marsh is a great find, but I think its too early to tell
- MS Dhoni can lose in T20 (Aussies too would agree)
- No Team is unbeaten now
- No team is with zero wins
- There is a three way tie at the top, with Delhi, Rajasthan and Chennai all on 8 points
- All the matches are running in Packed Stadia
- IPL can now be declared a success
- Some Controversies : Slapgate, Cheatgate
- Team sixandout supports: still KKR

Maybe I don’t agree 100% with point 7. I have noticed some areas of empty seats in the stadia for some games, but on the whole the attendance for the fixtures are better than I thought it would be.
A few more things I’ve noticed:
1. If I think a game is destined for a certain result & go to sleep, I normally wake up to find that the result went the other way.
2. Having a tonne of stars in your team doesn’t mean you’ll win.
3. India (the best team in the world) have several really good young players who would be able to step up and play internationally.

I do not think that time has come yet to give a verdict over the success of Indian Premier League. What makes me happy about IPL Twenty20 is that some local young players are doing well and they are coming into lime light.

@above
certainly. With guys like Yomi and Sangwan bowling well, and with Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan batting magically, the future of indian cricket is secure….but you can never say for sure…this, after all, is Indian cricket!
