My Ashes prediction
Well it seems like a natural thing to do - make some predictions. The Ashes gets underway in a little over a fortnight, so it’s time to put my money where my mouth is, hang my bat out to dry and associated other meaningless expressions.
What do I think will happen? Australia have the ability to win matches decisively, by burying the opposition. England have the ability to play out for the draw and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory grab the 50/50 matches at the last minute. I don’t think Australia will be able to steamroller England in the way they’ll want to, and England’s attrition will be the deciding factor, and so, predictably, I’m going for:

England 2-1.
Yes, I know that’s the same scoreline as last year. Yes, I know it’s sitting on the fence. But I think it’s how it will go down. England won’t inflict a comprehensive series win over the Aussies, and likewise, I don’t see Australia getting the whitewash. Australia don’t play as well when they’re under serious pressure, which will give England a slender advantage.
