Past memories
Thanks to the Diwali frenzy, I missed all of the Australia-SL action and most of the second ODI b/w India and Pak. But I am trying to keep up with all that’s happening by doing the rounds of Stuart, Uncle J, and JC’s blogs. (I am shocked that no one’s blogging about SA-NZ. Oh, I know.)

April 15, 2005 was (one of ) the most humiliating day for the Indian cricket fan. It got to the point of frustration for me. That’s the last thing you want on earth– India losing to Pak in a series decider. And it hurts real bad when it happens before your own eyes.
You get over it, though.
Cricketing world’s second fastest fifty happened at the Green Park on that very day. Shahid Afridi was in one of his trademark devastating moods. 102 off 45 balls. (The spectators were shouting, “We want our money back!”)

It’s different this year. The match is not a decider, but despite that the excitement is soaring; Salman Butt and Afridi have made the series a contest of sorts.

Oh no. Shane Bond has spent more time in the physio lab than the cricket field.
