Six and Out - Some Serious Cricket

Stop guessing, Ozzies

Bring it on. India vs. Australia: The Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Australians want to convince themselves that India is bringing in a fractured team to their land.

India-Australia: The Border-Gavaskar Trophy

According to a report recently sent to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sachin Tendulkar and the rest of the squad will arrive this month with serious doubts over their ability to go the distance of a 10-week tour.

I’m not sure if ability is the right word to use here.

He says Murali Kartik, for instance, struggles for fitness, agility and throwing ability.

We can do without him. Next…

He was right about Virender Sehwag needing to work on his fitness — he’s since been ruled out of the Australian tour.

You are just not well-informed. He’s been called back.

Zaheer Khan struggles to throw on the run. Praveen Kumar is lacking technique, balance and anticipation. Rudra Pratap Singh needs to improve his catching, while Harbhajan Singh is slow

By now, I am getting a feeling that this has been stolen from a past CricInfo report. Brush up your copyright knowledge. Oh, and give me a break, Harbhajan is not so slow.

Stop the guesswork. Get your psychologists ready. We’re comin’.

australia is so scared they started hiring psychologists 15 years ago just for this series.

earlier they used to go to psychologists to get over the guilt (if any) of sledging excessively…

but now they are going to overcome the shock!

What has Robin Singh done about it till now, is the question that comes to my mind. I don’t find any mention of it in the report.

Action taken is the last but one section of any official report….so is this official? Or someone’s attempt to spread the blame around while that someone sat on his job till the paycheck came home?

Mistake to find any chinks there…it’s all out in the open…India isn’t a good fielding team, they’ll drop the customary quota of catches…no surprises there. But to read a psychological fraility in it is a mistake….that’s just the way we are!

Loved the last line. Aussies might be fooling theemselves if they take India lightly. We might peak a bit late, but i can promise we are gonna feast on Aussie bowlers……..Take that……McGrath isnt there,Dizzy isnt there, Warne is not there, though he dint matter for us….Lee, well put Sehwag in front of him and the rest of them might be too rookies to have a go at us……..

I was laughing when i saw psycologists being consulted……….Thats what we call the Sreesanth effect, he s already given them jitters, though he might not play any single Test!!! why not have him in the squad as a cheer leader ?

That’s a good idea, Sam, about having Sree as a cheerleader. He really is a showman of sorts.

Agree with the point on Robin Singh, Soul. Did you know Robin Singh doesn’t speak Hindi? I am worried if some of them actually “get” his instructions?

I don’t think Indian players should be too worried about Aussie media because they will try to get under their skins.

India have built up some nice momentum coming into the series and whilst the lack of practice games in Australia can be a factor, the batting line-up has enough class to do well regardless. I have to admit though that the bowling looks thin but Australia’s isn’t flash either with only Clark and Johnson being the main threats in my book. And so long as India can bat well and put pressure on the Aussie batsmen, they should do well.

    Baseer,

You don’t consider Tait a threat?

Tait has the potential to be a threat but at the same time he can be wayward so I am not certain of what to expect from him.

Although I doubt if he will get picked, at least to start the series with. I will be surprised if Australia didn’t go for the more ‘conservative’ approach and picked the 3 seamers and Hogg.
